I am Robert Gervais, founder and CEO of Blackwoods Apothecary. As a certified herbalist and certified hypnotist, my work is rooted in a lifelong passion for traditional healing, plant wisdom, spirituality, and the art of transforming natural ingredients into meaningful experiences.
At the heart of Blackwood’s Apothecary is my love for alchemy, the ancient practice of transformation through knowledge, intention, and the harmonious blending of nature’s gifts. I view alchemy as a philosophy that connects the mind, body, and spirit, reminding us that herbs, botanicals, coffee, and tea can become more than ingredients; they can become rituals that inspire balance, reflection, awareness, and personal connection.
My journey has been shaped by a rich blend of traditions, including Irish spiritual heritage from my mother’s side and Hispanic folk traditions from my stepfather’s side. Growing up in a predominantly Hispanic community introduced me to ancestral wisdom, folk practices, and spiritual traditions that deepened my appreciation for the connection between nature, healing, and the human experience. Through continued study, mentorship, herbalism, and my work in hypnosis, I have continued to explore the powerful relationship between the mind, body, and spirit.
Through Blackwood’s Apothecary, I bring together herbalism, hypnotic practices, craftsmanship, spirituality, and the spirit of alchemy to create thoughtfully crafted coffee, tea, and botanical offerings. My approach is centered on whole-person wellness—supporting the mind through intention and awareness, the body through the gifts of nature, and the spirit through connection and reflection.
